Recognise vulnerable assumptions
Identify which inputs materially affect the reviewed funding requirement or process.
Assess how delayed receipts, changing operating costs and weaknesses in financial processes could affect business cash requirements. We document exposures, examine agreed scenarios and identify monitoring priorities for management consideration.
A risk review examines the vulnerabilities behind a forecast or financial process. It may focus on collection timing, concentrated commitments, cost movements or recurring control exceptions, depending on the business question and available records.
The work distinguishes supported observations from assumptions and unresolved questions. It is a defined advisory analysis, not an audit, assurance opinion or prediction that a particular financial outcome will occur.
Agree the liquidity, cost or process issue to examine. Establish the relevant time period, source records and consequences that matter to the business.
Vary selected management assumptions, such as receipt delays or supplier cost increases. Show the resulting change in cash requirements without treating the scenario as a probability estimate.
Prioritise issues using documented criteria. Propose monitoring indicators, review triggers and follow-up responsibilities, taking account of the actions available to management and the limits of the evidence.
Identify which inputs materially affect the reviewed funding requirement or process.
Record the issue, its potential consequence and the management action under consideration.
Assign an owner and review point to each prioritised item.
The consultation establishes the decision the assessment should support. We review the agreed records, confirm scenario inputs with management and discuss findings before finalising the register. Handover records limitations and action ownership. Any later assessment of changed assumptions or implementation progress is agreed separately.
The proposal sets the actual deliverables, timetable, fees and any continuing support. The work supports management review; it does not guarantee a financial result.
