A clear process for a well-defined engagement.
From initial discussion to review, our work follows an agreed purpose. Scope, information needs, responsibilities and fees are established before services are delivered.
Structure for the work.
Clarity for the relationship.
The depth of each stage depends on the service and the company’s needs. A focused assignment and recurring support can use the same underlying discipline.
- 01
Initial consultation
Establish the question and the business context.
We discuss the company’s activities, operating markets and financial management needs. The aim is to identify a defined question, the relevant stakeholders and the type of consulting support that may be appropriate.
STAGE OUTPUTBusiness priorities, intended scope and initial information needs. - 02
Business assessment
Understand the process and the information behind it.
After the preliminary assessment scope and information-handling arrangements are agreed, we review relevant workflows and available information, clarify assumptions and identify gaps. This can help define the detailed work required, without asking for confidential records before sharing arrangements are established.
STAGE OUTPUTAn assessment of the current position and areas for further analysis. - 03
Solution development
Agree a practical plan before delivery begins.
We set out the proposed work, analytical approach, responsibilities and expected outputs. Deliverables, fees, milestones, information handling and any exclusions are established in the engagement agreement.
STAGE OUTPUTA defined proposal, delivery plan and formal service agreement. - 04
Implementation & support
Deliver the agreed consulting and analysis.
We carry out the analysis and provide the agreed recommendations, process documentation or financial information support. Management retains business decisions, payment authority and responsibility for its own controls.
STAGE OUTPUTAgreed analysis, planning materials and practical management recommendations. - 05
Review & improvement
Review the work against its agreed purpose.
We discuss findings, document material assumptions and identify follow-up actions. Where the agreement provides for continuing support, later reviews can consider new information, changed needs and further improvements.
STAGE OUTPUTA management review, action priorities and any agreed follow-up.
A formal foundation
for cooperation.
The engagement agreement governs the actual services. A website enquiry does not appoint the company or establish a professional engagement.
Purpose & scope
The business question, services, deliverables, exclusions and review points should be understandable to both parties.
People & information
The company and client agree responsibilities, relevant information, confidentiality arrangements and the method for sharing any business records.
Fees & delivery
Fees, payment terms, milestones, change requests and any continuing support are established for the engagement.
Start with context,
not confidential records.
A short description is enough to begin preparing an enquiry. Identify your business activity, the financial process you want to understand and the decision or improvement you have in mind.
- Which operating question needs attention?
- Which markets, teams or processes are involved?
- What information exists, and what remains uncertain?
- What timetable or reporting cycle matters?
Do not include account credentials, payment instructions or sensitive business records in an initial brief. If a service proceeds, information requirements and sharing arrangements should be agreed through a verified business contact.
